YSTAD er en stilren og funktionel hylde, håndlavet i Danmark med stor omhu. Hylden er fremstillet i massiv, ubehandlet messing, som giver et varmt og levende udtryk og udvikler en naturlig patina over tid.
Den enkle form lader materialet være det bærende element, mens de undersænkede huller skaber et rent og minimalistisk udtryk i tråd med Acier Studios univers. YSTAD fungerer naturligt i stuen, entréen eller på badeværelset, som et funktionelt element, der med tiden får sin egen karakter og bliver en del af hjemmets historie.
YSTAD er lavet af ubehandlet messing - det betyder, at hylden ikke er lakeret eller forseglet, men fremstår i sin rene, naturlige form. Det er et bevidst valg. Messing er et levende materiale, der reagerer på sine omgivelser og på berøring. Med tiden vil overfladen ændre nuance og udvikle en unik patina, som gør hver hylde personlig.
Alle produkter er lavet i hånden og nøje kvalitetstjekket, inden de forlader værkstedet nær Aarhus.

Om messing og patina
Messing er et levende materiale, og hver hylde kan derfor have sit eget naturlige udtryk allerede fra begyndelsen. Mindre variationer i farve og overflade samt sorte prikker eller lettere ridser fra håndarbejdet kan forekomme. Det er ikke fejl, men en naturlig del af materialet og fremstillingen, som gør hver hylde unik.
Med tiden udvikler den ubehandlede messing en naturlig patina. Overfladen kan ændre nuance fra gylden og skinnende til dybere, varmere og mere nuancerede toner afhængigt af luft, fugt og berøring. På den måde fortsætter hylden med at udvikle karakter og bliver mere personlig med tiden.

Weight capacity is up to 60 kg per shelf. In practice, this depends more on your wall and fixings than on the shelf itself. Always ensure your wall type can support the load.
Combination

Avoid acidic, alkaline, chlorine-based or solvent-based cleaning products – these can cause staining or discolouration.
After cleaning
After cleaning, we recommend drying with a soft cloth to prevent water spots and streaks.
Pay special attention
Pay special attention to edges and joints, where liquid or residue may collect and cause discolouration over time.

WHY BRASS?
We focus on premium materials. Brass carries a warmth and depth that few materials can match, with a natural surface that deepens in character rather than staying static. Unlike inert materials, brass is alive – it responds to touch, air, and time, and grows more distinctive the longer it is used.
Warmth: Brass offers a rich, golden tone that no other metal can replicate. Its surface catches light differently in every room, bringing a quiet warmth to spaces that steel and aluminium leave cold.
Character: Brass develops a natural patina over time – subtle shifts in tone, small marks from daily use, a gradual deepening from bright gold to richer, warmer hues. This is not a flaw but the material's defining quality, a mark of authenticity that cannot be manufactured.
Craftsmanship: Brass rewards handling and care. It is a softer, more organic material than stainless steel, shaped and finished by hand rather than mass-produced. A quality that harder, more uniform metals cannot replicate.
Our pieces are designed, handcrafted, and warehoused in our local workshop in Aarhus, Denmark. By producing in smaller volumes and working with trusted specialists, we keep quality close and support local hands and local communities.
